Bangs and Bruises
I've had a heck of week, in the last five days, I've managed to fall down twice.
At the beginning of the week, I slipped in the horrible mud-poo at the front of my house and fell on the walkway stones (they were covered in mud). I ended up with a bunch of scratches and bruises on my legs and hurt my body overall with the jarring from the fall. My coat and clothes got covered in disgusting mud-poo; lots of laundry to do!
Yesterday, my son and I were out wildcrafting and were down in the gravel pit area near us. We walked across some ice, which we thought just had a couple of inches of water under it. We ended plunging through the ice and landed in almost 3 feet of water! A THREE FOOT DEEP MUD PUDDLE!!! WTF?! Obviously there was quite the dip in the land. I had my wool drifter jacket on that goes almost to my ankles. It was so incredibly heavy wet! We were about a ten minute walk from home and the temperature was about -4, so it was a really miserable walk home :( By the time we got home, our clothes were rock hard. Lots more laundry to do!
To get out of the giant mud puddle, I had to pull myself up on the ice, which of course added to the scraps and bruises on my legs. I now have about 20 bruises on me and my body hurts from top to bottom. The sudden falls jarred my body so badly and the whole thing has sent me into a bad sarcoidosis flare :(
To make the whole thing so much worse, my new camera was in my coat pocket. The camera I used all my Christmas art earnings to buy. It got totally submerged. I've been letting it air dry, praying it's not ruined. Fingers crossed!
It's been a bit of a rough week!
On a good note, the ducks have started laying, so that's awesome! I've got my first fertilized duck eggs on the year for sale.
I hope you all had a good week and a fun weekend! Hugs and love!

Critters
The weather has been pretty nice here for the last few days and I've been boiling down some maple sap, so have been spending lots of time outside. Here;s some pics from the last couple of days.
The new puppy Toffee; she's about 9 weeks old and a big trouble maker. good thing she's cute! :)
Three cats in one bed ... cats sigh . Ziggy, Gus and the Princess of Power
Mindy and George
Toffee exploring the forest
Han, my silkie Rooster
Toffee meeting the two silkies, Han and Jin
Watching the maple syrup fire with my buddies Taco and Buddha
The Silkies are Bantams, which means they are small. They often get picked on by the large hens, so they hang with the turkeys. Mindy adores them :)
My Chihuahua - Taco
