Mead
Yesterday, I bottled all the mead that was made at the mead making workshop I held last June. It turned out wonderfully! Nice smooth taste with a hint of cinnamon and citrus.
If you can't attend, but would like to learn how to make mead, chcek out my book!

Ducklings and Guinea Eggs
My guinea hens have finally started to lay! very exciting! the guinea eggs are the four on the right, the egg on the left is a chicken egg for comparison. hopefully we'll have some guinea keets for sale next month! they take 28 days to incubate
I had eight adorable Muscovy ducklings hatch this week! so cute! The mom, Jellybean, did a fabulous job! I'll be selling six of them and letting her keep two to raise.

Vestibular disease
My sweet Chihuahua is very sick. He was diagnosed with Vestibular disease. He is unable to walk or even stand. He is at the Vet's right now on an IV. My heart is breaking! I love Taco so much. he is my very best friend. when I am sick, he's the guy that never leaves my side. I miss him so much and have been in constant tears for the last two days. I didn't sleep at all Monday night and only slept two hours last night. I just want my little buddy home again.
If you'd like to learn about the disease, here is an excellent video on it:
hugs and love!

Silkie Pen
For the last couple of weeks, we've been working on setting up a pen for my fancy little chickens; my silkies, showgirls, and frizzles. I don't like penning my chickens, but my fancy little birds are expensive and the big roos are assholes and keep beating up my little roos, and I don't want the big roos mating with my fancy ladies. I also have a lot of hawk problems and would be super upset if a hawk got one.
I'm a low budget gal and try to always save a buck. The pen cost me $30 to make and a bunch of hard work. The only things I paid money for was a box of long screws and the netting for over top.
