I'm a simple person and don't use a bunch of special stuff to tap my trees. All I use is a drill (To drill the hole in the tree), a tap and a clean 2L Coke bottle.
Once the bottle is full of sap, I simply empty it into another clean 2L bottle and store in a cool place until I have enough to boil it down to syrup.
The sap seems to be running great this year, so hopefully I'll get enough sap to make enough maple syrup to last a year!
