Last Day of May

Good day friends! We have made it to the last day of May! Time goes by so quickly!

Today's after work photo. It's getting there!

Started the firepit today. Dug down and found the sheet of metal that we had at the bottom of it

And started digging the new firepit

This is a three week old ringtailed pheasant.

And last pic; Levi, the 8 year old Golden Retriever, we adopted three weeks ago is doing amazing! Don't even need a leash anymore :)

Big love! stay safe!

Work Weekend

Good day friends! Hope you all had a good weekend!
This is my Saturday and Sunday work post. I actually made a video yesterday, but then deleted it last night as I was too honest and it could of caused drama, and drama is the last thing I need right now. I'll make another video asap that is politically correct. LOL

So, here's the weekend work pics

We found this area (pic below) was still too much of a hill, so had to remove more hay.

We are getting there! It's almost done!

Almost Done

I'm almost done!!!!!!! I'm so happy I could cry!

Check this out!

It's almost flat!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Yes, I still gotta move three small poop mountains. Yes, there is still some raking and flattening that needs done. but, look at it! It's pretty well flat! I can see the end!

I'm gonna have it done by the end of the week!

Thanks for sticking with me everyone! I appreciated your support so very very much! Huge love!

Rain Day

Good morning friends1 It just started raining here. We went out a little before 7am and got two hours of work done before the rain started. I am super determined to get this done this week!

Today's after work photos!

We are getting it done!

We've made a couple of poop-hay piles to move once the new wagon gets here. the wheelbarrow is great, but it doubles our work load as it's so small in comparison to the wagon. The walking and dumping, takes more time than the filling.

At the point, we are just trying to get it moderately level. Don't need to have every ounce of hay-poop removed. Just a couple more days of work eft and we'll be ready to start raking it and then grass seeds time!!!

Then we can get back to trimming broken tress and getting our firepit in.

Thanks for the love and support!

May 26

Good day friends!

Travis had to go to town this morning to get his vaccine so I was by myself. I got 40+ wheelbarrow loads moved! :) Proud of me! I am so determined to get this done!

Here's my after work pic

I'm seriously running out of places to put stuff!

I've been dumping it along the edge of the forest, spreading it out in the forest, making piles of it in appropriate places etc.

Here's a couple of pics of it. There is WAY more spots! It's nuts!

My neighbour said there was close to 100 rounds of hay on the ground ... I sure he's exaggerating! Right?

It's suppose to be a rain day tomorrow! Fingers crossed, I could use the day off!

Hugs and love!

GoFundMe for a New Wagon

Giant bummer, we can't fix the wagon. Got the wheel back on and it fell back off first load. I hate asking for help, but we desperately need a new wagon asap. We use it to bring groceries and poultry feed home and to do farm chores. It is vital to us.

So, unhappily, I started a gofundme. :( I hate doing it, makes me feel bad.

If anyone feels like helping out, the link is below.

Another Wagon Wheel Bites the Dust

Good morning friends! Happy Tuesday! Hope you had a nice long weekend!

We got 16 loads of poop-hay moved this morning and boom! A different wagon wheel fell off! It seems crazy to me that we are just walking along and a wheel falls off! Damn! We are going to try to fix it. fingers crossed.

Today's after work pics! Is it getting flatter? We really don't need to get it all moved, grass will grow through it no problem. Just trying to get it moderately level.

This pic shows Travis pulling up a hay bale string.

Last pic - Sepsis macular degeneration. Caused by dirty poop bug bites.

Thanks for the love and support! Huge love!

What a Day

Good afternoon friends! Hope you all had a nice weekend!

Guess what we did today ... yep, moved more hay-poop.

We go the wagon sort of fixed; got a wheelbarrow wheel on it. It has a slow leak so we have to refill the tire every 10-15 minutes, but at least it worked.

We moved 17 wagon loads and 22 wheelbarrow loads this morning. We are determined to get this done!! So tired of doing this! So tired of smelling like poop. so tired of being in this much pain! Just so friggin' tired! I need it done!

We were just finishing up, was going to take a break, and our very nice neighbour showed up on his tractor. He can see the area we are working on from his house (He's on a hill) and felt bad for us. He kindly offered to help. Honestly, I came up to the house and wept in thanks. I was so happy that someone would help us. Unfortunately, the hay is so compressed and packed down (from all the months and all the weight of the 12+ cows. the last time the cow owners had cleaned up their poop/hay mess was August 2020, so there is 6-7 months of mess there) that he couldn't do it! It would roll up in such a huge amount his tractor couldn't push it!!! Oh my Gods! What??!!!!

Below is a photo of what him did. He said we would need to find someone with a bigger tractor that has a front loader

It was really really nice of him to try, but damn, that was crushing! I went from happy crying to depressed crying :( I thought it was finally going to be over and nope,

So after, he left, Travis and I dragged our sorry butts back outside and cleaned up the ridges. Ten more wagon loads.

Last photo ... yep, more string/rope. What the hell? It's a miracle none of the cows and horses have died from it. Poor things, they deserve better.

So we ended the day with load 409. The wheelbarrow loads are only about half the size of the wagon loads, but I'm counting them as a full load cause mentally and emotionally it makes me feel better and I need that right now!

Thanks so much for listening to me boo-hoo. I'm blessed to have such great friends. Thanks for the support! Huge love!

Load 360 and a Broken Wagon

Happy Sunday friends! Hope you are all having a great long weekend!

It rained here yesterday, so we got yesterday off from work! It's was nice! We watched the new Netflix movie "Army of the Dead". It was great!

We were out working at 7:30am today, trying to get our daily 20 loads of poop-hay moved before the bugs came out and the day got too hot. About half way through, the wagon broke again. this time the front wheel fell off :( Are you kidding me? So discouraging. Honestly, I'm not even sure if we can get mad at the wagon company at this point. It has moved 520 wagon loads of poop-hay in two months. I'm sure that's more work than a normal wagon would see in five years. I think we are simply asking too much from it :(

We thankfully had the wheelbarrow to finish the work with, but the wheelbarrow only holds about half of what the wagon did, so it's a lot more walking to dump loads.

So, here's today's after work photos:

I can't believe how much we've moved and how much is still left to move! It's so compressed from thousands of pounds standing on it! I still haven't found my sign post and sign that once stood in the area. It's under there somewhere!

I'm feeling pretty discouraged today. Just want to sit down a cry :(

Gonna try to fix the wagon wheel today. Fingers crossed! I just spent $46 fixing the darn thing, I simply don't have the money to buy a new one :(

Sending love and hugs! Be safe friends!

Covid Vaccine and a Sprained wrist

I got my first covid-19 vaccine yesterday. Very thankful!

I got "yellow flagged" due to having sarcoidosis and the fact that I take steroids for my condition. I'm having a bad flare at the moment due to all the physical labour of cleaning up the poop/hay, so I'm on more steroids than I normally take. The very nice nurse actually had to call someone to confirm I was ok to get it. I was a bit worried I wasn't going to get one! Eeek! She didn't know what sarcoidosis was, which didn't help the situation. The joys of having a rare disease! The vaccines haven't been tested on autoimmune people yet so they were being extra careful. If my steroids had been a bit higher I wouldn't of been able to get it! oh my! Very thankful that I could get it.

Here's my vaccine selfie! :)

I sprained my wrist badly pulling up the poop/hay today :( Went to the hospital because I thought I had broken it. Totally sucks, but at least it isn't broken! So, no cow poop/hay moving for a few days :( Hopefully I can still work on some art!

Wishing you all a great long weekend! Be safe friends! Huge love!

Back to Work - Load 335

Good morning everyone! it's about 9:15am here in Nova Scotia. We just came in from moving our daily 20 loads of hay/poop. Got in done early today as I have to go to town this afternoon to get my covid-19 vaccine.

Today, we worked the back side of the pile more the front/road side. The back side isn't as deep (cause they only put the hay bales at the front near the fence as they were too lazy to push it deeper into the enclosure), but it's a lot more poop than hay and it's really mushy and wet, and stinky!

I'm not sure if we'll be back at it tomorrow. It will depend on how I feel after the vaccine. If the side effects aren't not too bad, I'll just push through it and get more work done. Just gotta keep working on it. We still have at least a couple hundred more loads to go.

Wishing you all a great day! Thanks for the love and support! Huge love!

Load 315

 Good day friends!

It didn't rain this morning like it was supposed to so we went out and did loads 296-315. The sun was out, insects were crazy and the smell was overpowering. It was horrible.

I got a new wheel for our old wheelbarrow, so now we are working with both the wagon and the wheelbarrow. The wheelbarrow doesn't hold as much as the wagon does, but it's easy to dump (with the wagon we gotta throw all the poop/hay out by hand)

Here's today's after work photo;

Wishing everyone a super de duper great day! Thanks for all the support! I'm blessed to have such great friends! Huge love!

May 17

 Happy Monday!

Hope you all had a great weekend! The rain hasn't started here, so we went out and moved poop/hay. Today, we only got 15 wagon loads moved as I was simply too sore and tired to do more. I was expecting the day off, but figured if we could get a few loads done it would be better than nothing.

We have moved 295 loads of poop/hay off the ground now! Today, we just worked the end down near the pond.

Here's my daily after work pics:

Levi does a wonderful job sitting outside supervising us

I made this yesterday as I wanted a comparison of what Turtle Lane looked like before the cows and after;

LEFT SIDE: Turtle Lane before the cows (it was our camp fire spot; our Ritual spot; our BBQ spot; the place we played fetch with the dogs; the place friends camped out when here). The pole in the center of the top left pic is our Maypole (which the cows knocked done and we found the remains in poop mountain!). The smoke is coming from our firepit. When we moved in here, Turtle lane was filled with garbage and weeds and was a mess, we spent hours cleaning it and making it beautiful.
RIGHT SIDE: The mess left behind after the cows were moved (after 15 months of being here). Top right pic is the day they left. The snow pile at the back is poop mountain. They plowed the area twice while the cows were here. They removed the poop once and the second time, they just left it sitting half way on my fire pit. They literally plowed right over my firepit! I found the majority of my fire pit stones IN poop mountain. They showed ZERO respect for my stuff. Poop mountain sat here for 7-8 months till we moved it. They couldn't move it "cause their truck broke".

Wishing you all a great week! Thanks so much for all the supportive emails! Much appreciate all the caring! Huge love!!!

Cleaning the Cow Poop/Hay

Instead of my normal daily after work photos, I took a video this time. it's actually two videos combined. The first one shows me filling the wagon with the poop/hay. Please excuse my ridiculous appearance! LOL Second video shows the area , the work we've done and the work left to do. Second video turned out a bit fuzzy in parts. My hands were too shaky from working. Please excuse my bad breathing, I'm in really bad shape when I finish working. Today we moved loads 261-280 (loads of hay/poop off the ground).

Load 260

We moved load 241-260 today! I think we are about half done ... I hope! LOL

It's supposed to rain tomorrow so hopefully we'll have the day off! :)

Wishing you a super great weekend! Hugs and love! stay safe friends!

240 Wagon Loads

Today, we moved loads 221-240. Damn, that's a lot of wagon loads! I'm so tired of spending all my energy cleaning up someone else's mess.

So, here's today's after work photos.

It's going down ... right? How many more wagon loads do you think it will take? Am I halfway done? Another 240 loads to go? The bugs and smell are getting so bad cause the weather is getting warmer. I'm trying so hard to get it done before summer truly kicks in! I wish I could do more daily, but I just can't. My body hurts so badly. My sarcoidosis is through the roof. I'm getting spasms in my ribs. It's really hard work. I pray I get it done soon. I would love to have my life back.

Sorry for being a whiner. I'm having a bit of a breakdown today.

Thanks so much for letting me vent! Hugs and love! Be safe friends!

Thursday

Good day friends! Hope your week is doing great!

I got back to work moving the poop/hay today. Moved loads 200-220

Here's my after work photo. It's getting smaller ... right?

Today's string in the poop/hay ... That'd be great wrapped around a cow or horse's organs.

Last photo. The new pup, Levi, hung outside with us while we were working. such a sweet old guy. Excuse all the garbage! It's spring clean up day here, so we had a big load to go to the street. Most of it, is garbage from our forest. Unfortunately, previous tenants simply dumped their garbage in the forest so there is a ton to clean up. Every year on spring clean up day we fill as many bags as we are allowed with forest garbage. Maybe one day we'll get it all cleaned up! Some people really suck!

Wishing you all the very best! stay safe friends! Huge love!
